Composer Ernest Dawkins has completed the third composition of his Chicago Trilogy of Tragedy Series in honor of the memory of Emmett Till. The Series documents the history and significant world events that happen in and of Chicagoans. Till’s death was one of the catalysts of the civil rights movement and was inspirational in the Rosa Parks case.
Previous compositions in the Series include “Misconceptions of a Delusion Shades of a Charade: Celebrating the 35th Anniversary of the Chicago Seven Trial”, and “A Black Op’ era” dedicated to Chairman Fred Hampton.
The premier will feature some of the best musicians in Chicago including:
Harrison Bankhead, Corey Wilkes, Greg Ward, Aaron Getsug, Norman Palm lll,Justin Dillard, Kevin Nabors, Josh Abrams, Isaiah Spencer and disco poet KhariB., with special guest vocalist Dee Alexander.
